Determinable Factors Affecting Commercial Banks Deposit: The Case of Nigeria (2000-2019)

چکیده

This study examined the determinable factors affecting commercial banks deposits in Nigeria for period of 2000 to 2019 using panel data listed banks. The adopted secondary obtained from Deposit Money Banks annual reports and were analyzed. Explanatory variables proxied as Branch Network, Financial intermediation ratio, Bank size, Supply Economic Growth. while Dependent variable was by value ex-post facto research design examine effects bank-specific macro-economic on deposit Nigerian Banks. Series diagnostic tests carried out study. Panel technique specified random effect model Hausman test. found that branch network bank size have positive significant with financial ratio economic growth but insignificant during period. Also, money supply has negative deposit. therefore recommended among others regulatory agencies institutions should continue stimulate competition banking industry increase still hold key positions strengthening activities be able compete internationally. at level, improvement Deposits need conducted a reinforcement through central regulation programs will propels adhere loan-to-deposit portfolio.
